I bought both the short and tall stands, for heads with short or long wigs/implanted hair.
At first it seemed like they might not be stable enough, because they are fairly light while heads can be heavy, but they are stable as long as they are on a flat surface.
The borehole for the connector screw was threaded on the tall stand, but not threaded on the short stand. I don’t know why this is. I like the threaded hole on the tall one; it’s more secure, but you have to unscrew it to remove the head (unless you use a quick-connect screw). The non-threaded hole on the short one makes placing the head on quick and easy, but it feels less secure to me. I don’t know if this is standard, or I just happened to get ones like that.
Either way, the head stands still work great for holding my extra heads, or while I style their hair.
The stand is simply awesome, I am currently considering whether I should buy a second one. Regarding the stand: The base plate is very sturdy and large enough for the girl’s feet to have ample space on it, the seat is great (might benefit from a bit more padding). The assembly and handling are extremely easy. The stand is perfect for washing, powdering, and many other things 😉
